I had no idea about th...Wow super interesting post. I had no idea about the word Gehenna... it is always mind boggling to read/learn of the translations of words. It makes you think about the autographic words being infallible as Scripture but not necessarily the translations. I agree that its sort of indoctrinated in people today to hold to the idea of hell as being a place of eternal damnation and suffering, but surprisingly, you're right that the early church leaders made no mention of that. I'll have to think upon that more.
